Introduction

Making Training Work is a training, consultancy and research organisation with a specialism in language and literacy. Making Training Work designs and delivers a range of courses which enable people to develop their skills, to strengthen their awareness and self-confidence, and to secure qualifications and employment.

Making Training Work is a company limited by guarantee with a not-for-profit constitution. It was established in 1991 by Ann Janssen and Helen Casey with initial funding coming from the Employment Department and support from The London Enterprise Agency and the Bank of England.

During the intervening years, Making Training Work has been able to adapt to changes in funding regimes and has attracted financial support from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), European Social Fund (ESF), Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) and other public agencies.

Making Training Work works with networks and partnerships of similar aims.
